The Marbella 4Days Cycling Challenge is meant for those cyclists who like to challenge themselves.

The choice of winding roads and the undisturbed countryside, with the Sierra Bermeja beyond 2000 meters of altitude, make Andalusia the prime destination for our cycling event with fantastic, challenging routes.

Our cycling challenge will have some segment challenges for great fun and competitive cyclists. However, they require sufficient training and excellent preparation.

Creating one of Marbella’s best cycling challenge experiences was on their bucket list for a long time.

This first edition cycle event provides a strenuous challenge and the possibility of reaching personal goals, all of which are combined with lots of fun.

Our team goal is to offer the best possible support, services and hospitality before, during and after our cycling challenge.

About Covid-19

Your safety is our main goal. Furthermore, we will comply with all required new norms to ensure COVID-19 prevention.

We might have to test all participants due to government rules & regulations, even when you had your PCR test 72 hrs before travelling.

This could involve the “easy-15-minute-test”, free of charge*, at our hospice stand in the Cycling Village.

We will update you, nearer to the event date, about prices* for PCR tests and the new COVID-19 requirements.

Local bars and restaurants at the multiple villages you pass every day will also offer daily menus.

Starting point: Marbella?

Waiting for approval, due to COVID-19 regulations changing all the time, we aim to start all routes from the Cycling Village at the Paseo Marítimo of San Pedro de Alcántara, a charming Marbella district.

Marbella is located a 45-minute drive from Málaga airport. The hotspot of Europe is the perfect destination for lovers of culture, gastronomy, history and the beach. Marbella is an excellent starting point for day trips to Sevilla, Gibraltar, Málaga and Granada. And while you are here, why not visit some of the typical white villages in the inland or the famous nature reserve parks of Andalusía.

GOOD TO KNOW

preparations

M4DC is for the trained cyclist.

If you are not used to climbing and winding roads, you might want to start training and get much better at climbing hills.

Most stages are above 1000 meters of climbing.

The start takes place in so-called ‘open traffic’.

This means you have to comply with traffic rules at all times.

There will be police guidance, motorbikes and cars from the organisation along the routes.

insurance

We love organising (cycling) events and have all the necessary insurances in place. The Andalusian government also offers free COVID-19 insurance to tourists.

You are responsible for arranging your own adequate insurance protection to cover any incidents during your travel and stay. We will offer insurance at registration.

medical care

As event organisers, we have a duty to ensure all event cyclists and visitors’ health and safety.

Our medical team is experienced in dealing with participants at events; they can assess, monitor and treat on-site, if necessary.

We have ambulances at the start and finish point and along the route, to be ready if an emergency dictates that a patient must be transported “on blue lights”.

Our event is a cycling event held on paved roads and superb trails & tracks. Cycling is one of the most popular forms of sport events.

Riders will start simultaneously and ride to finish. You can choose any bike that suits you best. We recommend MTB.

E-bikes are also allowed, and charge stations will be provided along the routes.

The organisers and team consist of many passionate cyclists themselves. Therefore we understand the importance of a good bike.

We have partnered up with the best professional bike hire companies. They provide technical services along the routes as well as in the Cycling Village.

Green & NO Litter event

Listening to the demands for change, Marbella 4Days Cycling will prove that a cycling event can be “clean to be green” and has a strict “no litter policy”.

To reduce our environmental impact, we will have a dedicated zone for recycling in the Cycling Village and at our stations along the route. You will be excluded from further participation if we see you litter.
